Pros: The décor of the hotel was beautiful, and it felt especially magical as it was decorated for Christmas. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and truly went above and beyond — they even helped us out with a charger we had forgotten, which we really appreciated. The welcome drink was a nice touch, and they had left a treat in our room to celebrate my birthday which was much appreciated. The room was gorgeous, the underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely after a warm bath. We loved the Spa area and were lucky that each time we went, we were the only people in there so it felt like a private Spa. I felt the location was excellent as everything was walkable. The breakfast offered a good selection of food and drink, it was fresh and we didn’t mind having the same for 3 days.

Cons: There were some concerns around hygiene at the breakfast buffet. While I understand it isn’t the staff’s responsibility to supervise children, we did observe repeated instances of children touching and handling food in an unhygienic way, including sneezing over items, touching multiple foods with their hands and spitting out food onto the floor. Unfortunately, this made us uncomfortable and meant we weren’t able to enjoy the breakfast as much as we otherwise would have. The breakfast area isn’t very large, and at some times it was very overcrowded and loud which wasn’t especially enjoyable.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location

Pros: Beautiful hotel perfectly located. The Christmas decorations were stunning. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel and the staff were welcoming and very helpful.

Cons: The room was a touch too cold for us and we were unable to raise the temperature.

Good value for money, but with some flaws

Pros: Good value for money, the staff was very friendly, great location and beautiful common areas. The room was clean, good size, nice view and very comfortable bed.

Cons: The breakfast was a bit bland. Not the best coffee and juices and the bread was dry. When we ordered breakfast to the room it was forgotten and they didn’t pick up the tray afterwards. The spa could use a deep clean. The information about room service was incorrect. It said room service was available 24/7 and restaurant open untill 11 PM, but in reality nothing was available after 22 PM.

Pros: We had a free welcome drink, the spa was great and free, the pool was warm, two saunas, and a jacuzzi. Breakfast great. The location is comfortable in the town centre.

Cons: A tiny bit outdated decoration but still good.
